WHERE PEOPLE LIVE IN ISTANBUL

Here is the new way of looking of the earth with distorted eyes. The Gastner-Newman Cartogram (otherwise known as a population-density equalising cartogram) is a technique for representing data for areas that modifies the size of the area to take account of different denominator populations. It’s an approach that allows size of the area to be equalized so they are visually comparable. The most common approach for this contiguous area-based cartogram is that developed by Michael Gastner and Andrew Newman which does a relatively good job of preserving shapes even though areas are quite distorted. I applied this techniques to Istanbul province which has 39 county that unite Europe and Asia. In this paper I used Istanbul population of 2014 TUIK (Turkish Statistical Institute) data. As it illustrated below which has the most population nearly 750,000 people colored with red, which has nearly 100,000 people population colored as yellow and finally which has nearly 10,000 people population colored as green.
